Baltimore City, Maryland according to common reckoning is a pretty old place. Natives and transplants alike regale visitors or anyone who will listen with tales of our antiquity. There are plenty of old timers with stories about back in the day. When ever that day was nobody is quite sure.

Sure we've been here a long time, but not the longest by a long shot. Compared to St Augustine FL, Newport RI, and Charleston SC Baltimore is a relative newcomer. Even Annapolis MD, the state capitol, has been around longer than Baltimore.
